What Equipment do you need?
You will need a harness for your dog, a waist belt for you and a bungee lead to connect the two... but lets talk about specifics:
If you are new and would like to get the full starter kit for a good price, head on over to DogFit: https://dogfit.co.uk/collections/get-active/products/dogfit-canicross-starter-kit?variant=31012642685022
There are loads of different harnesses to choose from when it comes to canicross and depending on your dogs body shape, some will fit better than others. Ideally you're looking for 3 main pressure points when fitting a harness -
-
Rubbing around the neck
-
Shoulder Mobility
-
Sitting on top of the ribs

It's important that you see how the harness fits under tension - is it too tight around the neck? Does your dog have full movement through their shoulders? And does the base of the harness sit on top of the dogs ribs?
